I just got this set (comes in a red box indicating 'the cartridge is with chip'). I only installed the black one, which leaked a bit when I removed the protective clip, but my printer will not recognize it, even after removing the bit of paper as the instructions say to do and reinstalling 8 times! I cleaned the printhead and the black ink seems to be printing ok, but my printer changed from saying 'black ink is low' to 'black ink is very low'. I don't know how long the ink will last, but the unreliable installation and time spent trouble-shooting is very annoying.

I've ordered these a few times and I keep a journal of the dates installed to help me track my ink usage. The first ones I got lasted a year, but the last ones needed changing again after only 6 months (and I believe I've done less printing this year than last year!) When I tried to reinstall the cyan, it wouldn't recognize it, even after multiple attempts. When I installed the magenta, my printer showed that the ink was full again, but when I tested and cleaned the printhead, the magenta was faint and streaky, while the cyan indicated being empty, yet printed the blue color fairly well. The blue leaked a little, but the magenta was dripping and made a terrible mess even while trying to be careful. I don't know how long the ink will last, but all the extra time spent fiddling around and checking and cleaning up makes me not want to do this again!
