Didn't work with portable usb hard drive and 20ft Cat6 cable

Tried this with my cat6 cable and found that my nvr supplied mouse light was flickering and would eventually turn off. Decided to try the adapter at the source, so I used the adapter plugged from nvr to this product, connected to the mouse. Still didn’t work.

Beware. This device destroyed two CAT5e cables in quick succession when connected to a USB Audio adapter. Both cables had shorted internally and melted the jacketing. One was even blackened at the failure site. Following this, when the device was connected to the PC, it wouldn’t even boot. Only after removing the device from the USB port, was the PC score to boot. Luckily the USB port and audio adapter seem to be working do far.
