It uses small number 10 staples. It does require less effort to staple a few pages. Don't expect to staple a thick pile though.

I have bought many of the larger more expensive slingline, etc. staplers and within a few months they don't work anymore. These ones are great...lightweight, easy for old hands to squeeze, and never jam. Great price, I have one in every desk now.

The first stapler I got is great still going strong. The second one broke apart as soon as my wife tried to use it. I bought this as a replacement and hope it lasts because when they work they work perfectly.

well the stappler is fine but you need to order the special stapples. I did not check and thought those were like the ones I used for my other stappler.
