The listing and the reality of this ring light have a little bit of a long-distance relationship. Listing says: You can clip it to a laptop. Reality: The moment I clipped it on, my laptop leaned back like Fat Joe in Lean Back. It’s simply too heavy for slim screens, and the clamp feels a bit aggressive for modern lightweight laptops. Listing says: Three-hundred-sixty degree adjustable ball head. Reality: Only until the giant tightening screw runs into the base like a tiny traffic accident. The screw literally blocks some angles, so the “three-hundred-sixty” part is more inspirational than functional. Listing says: USB-powered and widely compatible. Reality: True, but it’s USB-A, and many newer laptops (especially MacBooks) have ditched those ports. You’ll need an adapter, and you’ll need one spare port, both of which many laptops don’t have anymore. Listing says: Great for desks, PCs, laptops, and “anywhere you desire.” Reality: It probably shines on a sturdy desktop setup, but on a laptop it’s more trouble than it’s worth. The light quality itself is great, but the physical design makes it a clunky choice for laptop users. Works best if you're not trying to clip it onto a thin screen, or if your laptop is built like a brick.

Not bad for the price I paid. I find the colour modes useless and just a gimmick, especially the rainbow mode. Light can get very bright with three different tones of white (6500K, 4000K maybe 5000K, and 3000K). Runs off USB. I have it connected to a laptop with no issues. Just two "could be better" items for me. 1) The controls is attached to the USB cable and is too close to the light. This means if you clamp this to your monitor, chances are, you'll have to reach behind your monitor to turn control it. 2) The clamp has a foam padding for protection, but it's huge compared to monitor bezels these days. If you fully clamp it, the clamp ends up clamping part of your actual screen so it blocks the view. On a laptop, it's scary because of how thin the screens on. I ended up using the clamp as a stand and placed it on my table instead of clamping it to anything. Would be nice if it was one of those adjustable arms that you find on most of the Logitech webcams.
