This was the only uncomplicated printer that connects directly to my PC using a cable that I could find on the market. If all you want to do is print from your computer without all the tricky to use features of wifi printers, this is the one for you. I'm done with costly ink cartridges that dry up without regular use. This was easy to set up, has a small footprint and the quality seems good, if not excellent. It cost just under $100 on sale and includes a start up toner cartridge. That's less than I would have paid for those clog prone, dried up ink cartridges in a year.

As a retired Electronic Technician with 6 decades of experience and having used dot matrix, ink jet and laser printers in my own business offices I feel that my honest appraisal of the PANTUM P2516 single use laser printer might be of some value to anyone considering a laser printer in general and this Pantum printer specifically. If I had to sum up the entire experience in just two words it would be "MOST IMPRESSIVE". My previous printer made by a major printer manufacturer was going to cost over $600 in genuine toner cartridges (3 color, 1 black and 1 drum cartridge). That unit was making it almost impossible to substitute after market cartridges. Don't misunderstand, that unit was very well built (15 years of use) BUT their business practices with toner and drums is to say the very least, aggravating. For the last several months the unit would have to be unplugged and then rebooted to just get it to maybe print 1 page. I finally had enough. I started to research the current laser printer market and the various manufacturers and the consumable prices as well as the overall cost and functionality of the printers themselves. My research led me to the Pantum laser printer line of products. This compact, monochrome, sturdy but light weight printer caught my attention. This Pantum P2516 laser printer fits my present needs perfectly AND the entire unit with a starter cartridge was considerably LESS than just 1 of my previous name brands cartridges. I purchased the unit on sale from 123ink.ca with (would-you-believe) free shipping by UPS. It came right to my door in a few days. It installed effortlessly, and it produces a quality laser image.
