The tilt and crank mechanisms work smoothly. The size is great for the price. Two complaints: The crank handle is positioned too high on the shaft, such that it is completely hidden when the umbrella is closed, and so is hard to find and use when you want to open the umbrella. Also, after being outdoors on our patio for a little over 2 months this summer, the colour of the fabric has already become fairly faded and worn-looking.
